Amendments
This tutored seminar provides participants with practical exercises on amendments. It comprises three modules, each of which contains two live sessions that build on each other:
- Module 1: definition and different types of amendments; when can amendments be submitted and what are the requirements for admitting amendments; assessment of allowability in simple cases
- Module 2: the content of the application as originally filed in special cases; intermediate generalisation; amendments in the description and in the drawings; amendments via a disclaimer
- Module 3: exercises and introduction to complex cases; complex cases, such as amendments of ranges and the inescapable trap linked to Articles 123(2) and 123(3) EPC
For each module, participants must study the training material available in the classroom. A brief summary of the main theoretical aspects will be given during the first online session of each module and be illustrated with examples. The second online session will be dedicated to discussing exercises, specific cases and questions posted in a forum available to participants.
