Amendments

This seminar aims to confront participants with practical exercises on amendments. It comprises three units: 

• Unit 1: the right to amend, the content of an application as filed, admissibility of amendments, compliance of amendments with other EPC requirements and extending the scope of protection 
• Unit 2: the various types of amendments: adding, replacing or removing features, generalisation and amending the description 
• Unit 3: particular aspects of amendments: ranges, amendments derived from drawings and the Article 123(2)/123(3) EPC trap 

For each unit, participants must study the training material available in the classroom. A brief summary of the main theoretical aspects will be given during the first online session of each module and be illustrated with examples. The second online session will be dedicated to discussing examples and specific cases.
