EPO hosts its seventh job shadowing event
Following the success of the EPO‘s myAbility Talent Matching event in June this year, 15 talents with disabilities participated in a special job shadowing experience from 15-19 September. The initiative, a key feature of the EPO’s annual diversity and inclusion workplan, reflects the organisation’s dedication to fostering diversity and supporting the professional growth of people with disabilities. It provides participants with a closer look at the day-to-day operations of the EPO.
The event kicked off with a welcome by the EPO, with participants joining both on-site and remotely in Munich and Berlin. Each talent was matched with a department that aligned with their career interests. During their shadowing, they experienced the dynamics of working at the EPO, built valuable connections and benefited from the professional expertise of our colleagues.
In addition to offering participants the opportunity to learn more about the EPO and its innerworkings, the event also equipped them with practical tools and inspiration for their future careers.
Both participants and colleagues appreciated the opportunity to be part of the day
“I really enjoyed the interactions with my talent during the day, she was very interested and very curious about my work, asking the right questions and providing fresh and interesting feedback to our work too”.
“A highlight was the coverage of so many topics around sustainability, DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion), and of course patents in an open and warm atmosphere – and the possibility to talk with experts”.
“Meeting and getting to know the talent was a very positive experience [...] In the meetings she attended, she actively contributed and engaged in nice interactions with the participants."
