The nomination drive is underway, and the European Patent Office (EPO) is once again looking for the visionary minds shaping tomorrow.
Whether you are a university professor championing a brilliant student, an intellectual property professional spotting promising talent, or a technology enthusiast inspired by a local pioneer, your proposals are welcome. Self-nominations from young inventors are also encouraged, and you may submit multiple proposals. Remember to put forward your proposals by 30 September 2026.
Simple process, major impact
The EPO is looking for inventors or teams of inventors:
- aged 30 or under in 2027
- using technology to contribute to at least one UN Sustainable Development Goal
- from any country
- in any field of technology
The online platform makes the nomination process quick and straightforward. You can easily manage multiple submissions by saving your progress to return to later. The process requires just a few essential text fields, such as the inventor's details, a summary of their technology and its impact on sustainability, alongside your supporting documents or links. You can use any public or published material to support your proposal, such as published papers, videos or web articles. Candidates don't need a granted European patent, but intellectual property rights offer strong evidence.
