Raising the rainbow flag in The Hague
As the summer of Pride continues and the city of Amsterdam marks 25 years of Pride celebrations, the Office expresses solidarity with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) communities by flying the rainbow flag in The Hague (Patentlaan 2, 2288 EE Rijswijk).
In the framework of this year's revelries in the Dutch capital (from 31 July to 8 August), Vice-President for Patent Granting Process Steve Rowan and a group of colleagues met at the New Main building to raise the iconic rainbow flag on behalf of the Office.
The EPO and its staff continue to celebrate Pride with the same enthusiasm, despite the pandemic restrictions. This follows Vice-President Corporate Services Nellie Simon and a group of staff marking the start of the Christopher Street Day celebrations in Munich.
As an employer of choice that vigorously supports diversity and inclusion (D&I), the EPO attaches a great deal of importance to making sure all staff feel respected and accepted at the workplace, including our LGBTQ+ colleagues.
