CNIPA's file inspection platform is moving!

Important news for users of Chinese patent information

The online platform (CPQuery) provided by the Chinese patent office (CNIPA) for electronic file inspection, information on all kind of fee payments, owner changes, re-examination etc. is moving to a new URL . The transfer is currently scheduled to take place at the end of this month, i.e. in late March 2023.

This platform, which covers all patent applications filed since 1 February 2011, can be used by everybody, but you need to register. For the current platform, users need to give a personal telephone number and non-Chinese users can only register via CNIPA. In the new platform, however, non-Chinese users will be able to register themselves directly via an email address and do not need to contact CNIPA first.

As we all know from our own experiences of moving, it will take a while until "all the boxes are unpacked." So please be aware that if you have a non-Chinese email address, you will not be able to use the new platform until the end of March 2023. Until then, you can continue to use the platform at the old URL address, but please note that it has not been updated since 26 January 2023.
