New – AI-based CPC text categoriser
Access the new AI-based CPC text categoriser from Espacenet
You can now access CPC text categoriser from Espacenet and use it to find relevant CPC symbols and enhance your searches.

Also accessible from the Single Access Portal, CPC text categoriser is powered by AI.
Simply enter a description of the technology of interest. You can use English, French or German and enter from 7 to 1024 words. When you're ready, select Classify.

You'll then see a list of suggested symbols.

You can display the results at main-group or subgroup levels. Under Advanced settings, you can also adjust the confidence level and the number of results displayed, and choose whether to show the confidence level and revision dates in the results.

To retrieve the corresponding data collection, you can then copy and paste the CPC symbols (without spaces) into Espacenet Smart search or Advanced search.
You cannot use CPC text categoriser to find the definitions of classification symbols. Use Espacenet Classification search instead.
