Case number for UPC opt-outs in INPADOC
A proprietor or an applicant for a European patent may opt out from the exclusive jurisdiction of the Unified Patent Court and also withdraw their opt-out again at any time. The opt-out and its withdrawal take effect upon their entry in the UPC Register. INPADOC worldwide legal event data features the full set of opt-out events.
As of July 2024, you can also access the UPC case number of opt-outs in INPADOC, which is now available together with opt-out events.
This UPC case number was added because there is a sequence of opt-outs and subsequent withdrawals of opt-outs for some patents. So the addition of the case number makes it easier for you to identify this information in INPADOC.
