- Publication of first EP application with Montenegro as designated contracting state

On 30 November 2022, a European patent application filed on 7 October 2022 was the first to be published with Montenegro (ME) as contracting state. The official publication is available for download from the European Publication Server, and the Montenegro country code now appears among the 39 country codes of the designated contracting states (INID code 84). The European Patent Register contains the related procedural information, and Montenegro is listed in the designated contracting states section. Only for applications filed on or after 1 October 2022 - the day on which Montenegro became the 39th contracting state of the European Patent Organisation - will you have the option to select Montenegro as designated contracting state.
