What is the scope of the Fee Assistant and which reductions does it cover?

The Fee Assistant currently relates only to the fees for European patent applications. It also covers two EPO fee reduction schemes for small and micro-entities:

• Micro-entity support (MES): a 30% reduction on all main fees in the patent granting process for micro-entities if they filed fewer than five applications in the last five years.
• Language-related support (LRS): a 30% reduction on European filing and examination fees for small entities from EPC contracting states with official languages other than the EPO languages. Other support measures, such as national search support for small entities, other non-EPO schemes or translation compensation for Unitary Patents, are currently outside the scope of our Fee Assistant.
