Can I receive provisional protection in the validation state?

Where a validation state grants provisional protection to its national patent applications before grant, applicants under the validation system can also choose to seek this protection. To do so, applicants must file a translation of the claims of their European patent application with the NPO and pay a publication fee. The European patent application will then benefit from the provisional protection as provided for under the national law of the validation state.
