Difference in funding intensity:
The difference in funding intensity is the relative (%) difference in median total funding per employee between Deep-Tech Finder startups and other startups for the selected countries and industries. For each company, funding intensity is calculated as total funding received across all recorded rounds divided by the number of employees at year-end 2024. The median is then taken across all companies in each group. Only companies with both a disclosed headcount for 2024 and at least one recorded funding round with a disclosed amount are included in the calculation.

Difference in funding premium:
The difference in funding premium is the relative (%) difference in median funding round size between Deep-Tech Finder startups and other startups for the selected countries and industries. For each group, the median is calculated across all individual funding rounds with a disclosed amount greater than zero. Only transactions with a recorded funding amount are included; rounds with missing or zero amounts are excluded.

Difference in deal frequency:
The difference in deal frequency is the relative (%) difference in the number of funding rounds per company-year between Deep-Tech Finder startups and other startups for the selected countries and industries. For each group, this figure is calculated by dividing the total number of funding rounds by the total number of company-years, expressing how frequently companies in each group raise funding relative to the size of the active startup population in each year.

Difference in job creation rate:
The difference in job creation rate is the relative (%) difference in net jobs created per company-year between Deep-Tech Finder startups and other startups for the selected countries and industries. For each group, it is calculated by dividing the total net change in employees across all companies and years by the total number of company-years, expressing how many net jobs are created relative to the size of the active company population in each year. Only companies with disclosed headcount data are included in the calculation.

Difference in exit rate:
The difference in exit rate is the relative (%) difference in the number of exited companies per company-year between Deep-Tech Finder startups and other startups for the selected countries and industries. For each group, it is calculated by dividing the total number of companies that have exited through an IPO or acquisition by the total number of company-years, reflecting the pace of exit activity relative to the size of the active startup population in each year.
