Will the audio recording of oral proceedings replace the minutes of proceedings?
No. Rule 124(1) EPC lays down that the minutes of oral proceedings are written minutes containing only the essentials of the proceedings. The audio recording of oral proceedings, or a transcript thereof, cannot therefore replace the minutes of the proceedings drafted by the competent department.
