How will the EPO deal with oral proceedings that cannot be completed within a single working day?

If the division considers that the oral proceedings might take longer than a single working day, it will summon for two or more consecutive days.

If the oral proceedings cannot be completed within the allotted time, they will be adjourned. Normally, new summons and minutes of the oral proceedings will be issued. If all parties agree and if the particular circumstances of the case permit so (e.g. if no simultaneous interpreting is required), oral proceedings may be adjourned to a date in the near future (e.g. the next day) without new summons and minutes of the oral proceedings being sent (see Guidelines E-III, 8.11.2 for further details).
