What happens if the Mailbox is down and I do not receive my documents on the date of dispatch?
If the Mailbox system is down and you do not receive your documents on the date of dispatch, the following legal remedies are available:
If the document is not received at all: an investigation will be initiated at the applicant's request. If the EPO cannot prove that the communication has been notified, a new communication will be issued with a new time limit.
If the document is received late (i.e. later than seven days from the date of the communication): the days exceeding this time limit are added to the original time limit at the applicant's request.
