MAJOR AMENDMENTS

PART A

A‑III, 3

The section has been revised in order to reflect the changes to the Arrangements for deposit accounts which entered into force on 01.12.2017 (requirement to file a debit order in an electronically processable format (XML) using one of the accepted electronic means of filing) and the introduction of the payment by credit card as a new fee payment method as from 01.12.2017.

New chapter “Special provisions” has been added.

A‑IV, 1

New section dedicated to the PCT Direct service has been added.

A‑IV, 1.2

The filing of a request for PCT Direct is now described under this sub-section. Accordingly, GL/PCT-EPO B‑IV, 1.2.2 (November 2017) is deleted.

A‑IV, 2

New section dedicated to withdrawals has been added.

PART B

B‑IV, 3.1; B‑X, 3.4

The text has been amended in order to reflect that the programme on search strategies (information sheet on search strategy) has become a permanent service as from 01.01.2018.

B‑XI, 2.2

The text has been amended in order to reflect that, as the Belgian patent office has ceased its activities as receiving Office as from 01.04.2018, the EPO as ISA accepts for search purposes international applications drafted in Dutch language only if they have been filed with the Netherlands patent office as receiving Office.
