Poster session and product presentations

This year's "East meets West" will again provide a platform for providers of Asian patent data to exhibit their services in a poster session alongside the conference. In order to allow sufficient time to visit the poster session area during all the breaks, the poster session area will already be opened on the first day, Thursday, 19 April 2018, at 13.00 hrs. 

On Friday, 20 April 2018, we will start the morning with a breakfast and a dedicated time slot from 8.30 to 9.30 hrs to visit the poster session and talk to exhibitors. 

Call for papers: Product presentations

In addition to the usual poster session, this year, selected exhibitors will have the opportunity to introduce new search tools, related products or ongoing research in the area of artificial intelligence in speaking slots on Friday, 20 April 2018 from 11.00 - 12.15 hrs. Speaking time will be limited to 10 minutes.

As the topic of this session will be "AI-based tools for searching Asian patent data", selection will be based on the relevance of the proposed presentation and its specific focus on facilitating access to Asian data. Commercial providers are invited to submit an abstract (max. 500 characters) by 21 March 2018. For further questions, please contact the organisers at 

Poster session

This is your chance for direct interaction with users of Asian patent data. Participation in the poster session is free of charge. Only Asia-related content please!

Once you have registered, you will be asked to submit:

  • a brief description (max. 500 characters) of your company/organisation
  • a summary (max. 500 characters) of the Asian patent information product or topic you are going to present on your poster

The EPO will provide:

  • one easel to display your DIN A1 poster
  • one small, round standing table (cocktail table)

Please note:

  • poster size should not exceed DIN A1 (594x841 mm or 23.3x33.1 inches!). Ideally, the format should be "portrait" to better fit the shape of the easel (if you prefer to use a "landscape" format, just let us know in advance)
  • the cocktail table is small (80 cm in diameter) and apart from your laptop, you can place only a limited amount of promotional material or pamphlets on it
  • places are limited and will be allotted on a "first come, first served" basis. Registration will close as soon as the number of posters reaches the maximum capacity

Should you need extra space for a roll-up or brochure stand, please do not hesitate to let us know in advance. We will do our best to make this event a useful networking opportunity for you.

Technical equipment (power supply for laptops, WLAN) will be available in the hotel.
