Linked open EP data and its reference to KIPO's linked data set

2018 saw the beginning of a new EPO service with the regular publication of bibliographic information of EP patents in linked data format with an open standard license.

The simple data format, which is the backbone of the so-called Semantic Web, stresses relationships between objects. In the patent domain, numerous such relationships exist, e.g. between applications and their priority and between family members.

To illustrate this and since Korean applications are also published as linked data by KIPO, EP patents having Korean priorities are linked to the original Korean applications.
