How to get there

The venue is located 1.7 km from the city centre, close to Parcul Eroilor and the Parliament.

Getting to and from the JW Marriot Bucharest Grand Hotel to Otopeni Henri Coanda Airport

The hotel offers following services:

  • airport shuttle service, fee per person: RON 45, one way, hourly departure
  • hotel limousine, fee per person: RON 194, one way, max. 3 persons

By bus: Tickets are magnetic cards, called the blue card. The two travel card costs RON 7 + card cost RON 1.6. They are issued with minimum two and maximum 10 trips. This type of card is rechargeable and cannot be used by multiple persons per trip.

When traveling from Henri Coanda Airport to the city centre, you can buy this card at the ticket machine or ticket counter located in the bus station.

Airport to hotel 783 Piata Unirii (15 stops) ->  385 Valea Oltului (5 stops) bus stop Doctor Staicovici, walk to the hotel, travel time approx. 1.5 hrs, during rush hours longer.

By taxi: A taxi from the airport to the conference venue JW Marriott costs about 40 - 70 RON. You can recognise  licensed taxis by their yellow emblem. Prices vary between RON 1.99 and 3.50 per kilometre, and are indicated on the outside of the vehicle near the taxi door.

You can take any taxi in the taxi rank in front of the airport when you leave the airport building. Or you can order one from the "machines" in the arrival hall, please cross over the first street where the taxis are lined up and find your machine-booked taxi.

By car: It is a 19 km drive from the airport to the conference hotel, taking approximately 40 minutes.

What is the EPO Patent Information Conference?

The EPO Patent Information Conference is one of the leading patent information events in Europe. It is not only a conference, but also a public exhibition, a training event and a meeting point for professionals in the field. This year's event is being organised in co-operation with the Romanian State Office for Inventions and Trademarks.

Who are the attendees?

The delegates include Europe's big users of patent information as well as participants from around the world. In recent years, about 400 people have attended the EPO Patent Information Conference on average.

Participation fee

Participation fee: EUR 600
Additional fee for training courses on 28 and 31 October: EUR 125 per course.
Price for accompanying persons attending the conference dinner on 29 October 2019 is EUR 115.

Official language

The official language of the conference will be English.

A welcome drink will be served in the exhibition area of the conference venue from 17.00 to 19.00 hrs on Monday, 28 October. On conference days, refreshments will be served on site. Lunch will be provided on 29 and 30 October (not for accompanying persons), but not on 28 or 31 October.

The conference registration desk will be open on Monday, 28 October, from 14.00 to 19.00 hrs and from 08.30 hrs onwards on 29, 30 and 31 October 2019.
