On 27 January 2015, the Chinese Patent Office (SIPO) released a revised draft version of the Patent Administrative Enforcement Rules for public opinion. These guidelines for handling patent-related administrative enforcement actions were last amended in December 2010, in line with the previous changes to the Chinese Patent Law. The aim of the ongoing revision is to further improve the administrative procedures. IP enforcement issues arising from new technologies, such as the internet, are also addressed in the draft.
The draft is open for comment until 15 March 2015. More information, including a comparison table of the planned changes and the current rules (in force since February 2011), is available on SIPO's website (Chinese only).
