On 28 January 2016, the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO) announced an amendment of Rule 86 of the Enforcement Rules of the Taiwan Patent Act. The rule stipulates that an applicant may apply for a postponement of the publication of his patent for a period of three months maximum. With the amendment, this period has now been extended to six months. Further details, including the text of the amended rule, can be found on TIPO's website (currently in Chinese only).
