According to a notification by WIPO, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) ratified the Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks. The Singapore Treaty provides a framework for the harmonisation of trade mark registration procedures. As of July 2016, there are 45 contracting parties to the treaty.
The treaty will enter into force in North Korea on 13 September 2016.
