SIPO's Intellectual Property Publishing House (IPPH) has recently changed the modalities for using its Chinese CNIPR database. Free registration and login are now required in order to use the database. Basic search functions are still available to registered users free-of-charge. The registration form for the Chinese interface is only available in Chinese language.
Payable subscriptions come in two different options. A subscription is necessary to use advanced search and analysis functions or download larger amounts of data. Dual filing information - which was announced in this earlier update - can no longer be accessed publicly and free-of-charge. An English version of the CNIPR platform is also available with a subscription (free trial available upon request). More information can be found on the English website.
The IPPH also follows the new publication schedule - i.e. Tuesdays and Fridays, as announced here - and publishes the new data without any delay.
The step-by-step guides for searching Chinese databases on the EPO's virtual helpdesk on Asian patent information have already been updated to reflect these changes.
