India: Indian priority documents introduced to WIPO Digital Access Services

In an official notice dated 12 March 2018, the Indian Patent Office (IPO) announced the following information: For international applications filed after 1 January 2018, where the IPO acts as Receiving Office, the applicant can request the IPO to also act as depositing office under the WIPO Digital Access Services (DAS). This means that priority documents will be uploaded and made available in WIPO DAS. Under the WIPO DAS system, the applicant requests the office of the first filing to deposit the priority document into WIPO DAS, and subsequently, the applicant requests the offices of further filings to obtain direct access to the priority document via this electronic system.
