According to an official notice, the Hong Kong Intellectual Property Department (HKIPD) will launch its New Integrated IT System (NIS) on 14 February 2019. The new system will replace the IPD Online Search System, the e-filing system and the internal electronic processing systems of the Trade Marks Registry, Patents Registry and Designs Registry. Users can already get a sneak preview of the functionalities of NIS in an online tutorial (PDF version). Furthermore, a new B2B e-filing system will be launched together with NIS.
Some of the current online services will be suspended between 1 and 14 February 2019. Further details on the launch and other upcoming changes can be found in the official notice.
