European Patent Register and Register Alert improvements/new features

1. European Patent Register (EPR)

1.1. Notification of receipt of translation of claims

The receipt of translation of claims will now be displayed as a separate event in About this file:

as well as in the Event history:

Subscribers to the Register Alert service will also be notified about this by e-mail.

1.2. Link to PDFs of the European Patent Bulletin

The European Patent Bulletin is now hyperlinked. This gives you direct access to a PDF file of the relevant issue:

under About this file, Most recent event:

and under Event history - from any reference to an issue of the Bulletin, e.g.: [2014/06] in the screenshot below:

1.3 Filing of divisional applications - new Rule 36 EPC

Under the new Rule 36 EPC, which took effect on 1 April 2014, the date of dispatch of the first communication will no longer be provided in respect of divisional applications to be filed on or after 1 April 2014. Rule 36(1) EPC now allows the filing of divisional applications as long as the earlier (parent) application is pending. For more details, please refer to the Legal texts area.

1.4 Load all pages button

The issue arising in some browsers with the Load all pages button in the All documents section has been fixed:

1.5 Deep link data coverage - direct link to national patent registers

The deep link service enables you to consult the legal status data of an EP document in national patent registers. A new page indicating the data coverage is provided. 

2. Register Alert

2.1. Notification of lapse

The Register Alert e-mail notification now includes, from the first lapse, the contracting state(s) in which the lapse has occurred. The notifications will reflect new or changed lapses, preceded by the words Lapse in, and deletions by Lapse deleted in.
