INFORMATION FROM THE EPO
Notice of the President of the European Patent Office dated 20th December 1984 concerning general authorisations
On the basis of Rules 9(2) and 101(3) EPC it is decided that:
1. The Legal Division1 is responsible for decisions concerning the registration of general authorisations.
2. It is recommended that Form 1004.12 be used for general authorisations. The powers mentioned separately in the form (to receive payment, to act in PCT proceedings and to give sub-authorisations) must be expressly granted (e.g. by placing a cross in the appropriate box on the form).
3. Powers other than those three mentioned in point 2 above may not be excluded in a general authorisation.
