New fee rates

By Ministerial Order of 29 December 20001 some of the fees of the Institut national de la propriété industrielle have been amended.

Applicants and proprietors of European patents with effect in France are advised that from 15 January 2001 the following rates apply:

1. Publication of translations of the claims pursuant to Article 67(3) EPC:

FRF 230 (unchanged) = EUR 35.06

2. Publication of translations of the patent specification under Article 65 EPC:

FRF 230 (unchanged) = EUR 35.06

3. Renewal fees:

Surcharge for the 2nd to 10th renewal fee:

FRF 115 (unchanged) = EUR 17.53

Surcharge for the 11th - 20th renewal fee:

FRF 345 (unchanged) = EUR 52.59

4. Conversion of European patent applications or patents into national patent applications or patents:

Filing fee: FRF 250 (unchanged) = EUR 38.11

plus FRF 115 (unchanged) = EUR 17.53 for the 11th and each subsequent claim

Fee for a report on the state of the art:

FRF 2 100 (unchanged) = EUR 320.14

Production and transmission of copies of the European patent application to the designated states:

FRF 165 (unchanged) = EUR 25.15

plus FRF 5 (unchanged) = EUR 0.76 per page and copy

5. Registering transfers, licences and other rights:

FRF 170.55 = EUR 26

up to a maximum amount of 1 705.49 FRF (260 EUR) where a request for registration concerns several rights.

Updating of the information brochure "National law relating to the EPC"

Users of the EPO information brochure "National law relating to the EPC" (11th edition) are asked to make the appropriate amendments to the amounts of fees shown in Tables VI, column 1, VII, column 2, and IX, column 4.
