Important Notice concerning fees
Readers are reminded that the increase in the filing fee decided by the Administrative Council on 4 December 2003 took effect on 1 January 2005 (see OJ EPO 2004, 3).
As a result, the amount of the filing fee (Article 78(2) EPC) and the national basic fee (Rule 106(a) EPC) is now EUR 160 if the European patent application or, in the case of an international application, the form for entry into the European phase (EPO Form 1200) is not filed online.
The new amounts apply to European patent applications filed on or after 1 January 2005 and to international applications entering the European phase on or after that date.
If within six months of 1 January 2005 the new filing fee or national basic fee is paid in due time but only in the amount due before that date, it will be deemed to have been validly paid if the deficit is made good within two months of an invitation to that effect from the European Patent Office.
