Payment of renewal fees for European patents in Slovakia
The Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic has informed us of the following changes in connection with the payment of renewal fees for European patents.
First national renewal fee
The first national renewal fee for the European patent shall be paid on or before the anniversary of the date of filing of the patent application, or within two months as of the date of publication in the European Patent Bulletin of the mention of the grant of the European patent, whichever period expires later.
National renewal fees for subsequent patent years
The renewal fees for each subsequent patent year are due on the anniversary of the filing date of the patent application.
Methods of payment
Payments may be made either by bank transfer or by postal money order.
Updating the EPO information brochure on "National law relating to the EPC" and the information on the impact of the EPC on Slovak national law published in OJ EPO 2004, 469
Users of this brochure (12th edition) are requested to update its Tables VI, column 2 (a), and VIII, column 3 (a), accordingly.
Users of the OJ EPO are also asked to make the appropriate amendments in parts B. V., first paragraph, and B. VII., last paragraph, of the contribution regarding the impact of the EPC on Slovak national law, published in OJ EPO 2004, 469.
