    European qualifying examination

    Notice from the Examination Secretariat

    1. Compendium of the papers of the European qualifying examination

    In October 2005, the European Patent Office published a new edition of the Compendium of papers from the last European qualifying examination. It is intended to assist candidates and tutors in preparing for the examination.

    (a) Internet

    The latest issues of the Compendium are available on the Internet:

    The Compendium consists of four parts:

    Papers A & B (Chemistry)

    Papers A & B (Electricity/Mechanics)

    Paper C

    Paper D

    Each part contains the corresponding paper(s) in English, French and German, the examiners' report (original language only) and examples of answers by successful candidates (one per official language).

    (b) Printed edition

    The booklets cost EUR 29 each, excluding postage and packing. Previous editions (1990/92 and 1993 to 2004) are still available.

    2. European qualifying examination 2006 in the United Kingdom

    Candidates sitting the exam in the United Kingdom are advised that the examination will be held in Bristol (British Empire & Commonwealth Museum, Station Approach, Temple Meads).

    3. Local times at the examination centres of the European qualifying examination 2006:

    In accordance with Article 23 of the Regulation on the European qualifying examination for professional representatives (REE), the European qualifying examination 2006 will be held at the respective examination centres at the following local times:
