EPO passes for professional representatives
At the end of 2006, the EPO will be replacing its existing staff passes with a new, more state-of-the-art system. As part of this exercise, it will also be issuing professional representatives with new passes.
These passes will have a new design and enhanced functionality, giving access to the building via electronically controlled entry gates and allowing cashless payment in the EPO canteens (albeit with no canteen reduction).
The old passes for professional representatives will remain valid until 31.12.2007. If you already have one, please apply for your new pass at some stage during 2007.
Initially, the new passes will be issued only in Munich, at the main entrances to the Isar and PschorrHöfe buildings (Erhardtstrasse 27 and Bayerstrasse 34). Subsequently, the new system will be extended to The Hague, Vienna and Berlin. New passes will be issued direct on presentation of a (new) passport photograph and provision of the necessary personal data, and any existing pass withdrawn.
Exceptionally, it is also possible to apply for a new pass by simply writing in – giving your registration number and enclosing a passport photograph (light grey background, please) and your old pass, if you have one – to the following address:
