New amounts of fees
On 18 October 2006 the Federal Council approved the decision of the Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI) of 30 August 2006 reducing the 5th- and 6th-year renewal fees for Swiss and European patents effective in Switzerland and Liechtenstein from CHF 310 to CHF 100 as from 1 January 2007. The IPI continues to charge no renewal fees for the 1st to 4th year; those for the 7th to 20th remain unchanged at CHF 310. Further fees have been substantially reduced, and another 70 done away with altogether. Full details are given on the IPI website (www.ige.ch) under "News".
