    New amounts of fees

On 14 March 2008 the Federal Council approved the decision of the Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IGE) of 20 November 2007 reducing the 7th- and 8th-year renewal fees for Swiss and European patents effective in Switzerland and Liechtenstein from CHF 310 to CHF 200 as from 1 July 2008.

Applicants for and proprietors of European patents with effect in Switzerland and Liechtenstein are therefore advised that from 1 July 2008 the following rates apply:

5th and 6th year after filing: CHF 100 per year

7th and 8th year after filing: CHF 200 per year

9th to 20th year after filing: CHF 310 per year

The surcharge for late payment of a renewal fee amounts to CHF 50

Updating the EPO information brochure "National law relating to the EPC"

Users of this brochure (13th edition) should amend Table VI, columns 1 and 3, accordingly.
