Notice from the European Patent Office dated 19 May 2010 concerning updated Form 1200 (entry into the European phase) and notes
Albania's accession to the European Patent Convention (see OJ EPO 2010, 96) and the introduction of a new EPO service – the supplementary international search (SIS) under the PCT (see OJ EPO 2010, 316) – have prompted an update of the form for entry into the European phase (EPA/EPO/OEB 1200 04.10).
In this update (EPA/EPO/OEB 1200 07.10) we have taken the opportunity to dispense with the list of contracting states – to avoid the need for further updates each time a new country joins in the future – and to delete a number of outdated footnotes.
The notes to Form 1200 (version 04.10) have also been revised. The updated (07.10) version no longer contains a list of wordings for the request for examination in all the admissible non-EPO languages, and for greater conciseness a number of editorial amendments have also been made.
Up-to-date lists of the contracting states and of request-for-examination wordings in admissible non-EPO languages will be found on the EPO website (www.epo.org) under "Grant procedure – Filing an application – Request for examination".
