Decision of the President of the European Patent Office dated 16 December 2015 revising the fee for an international-type search

The President of the European Patent Office,

having regard to Article 10 EPC, Article 3(1) RFees and Article 8 of the Agreement between the EPO and WIPO under the PCT (OJ EPO 2007, 617),

has decided as follows:

Article 1

Unless different terms have been agreed between the European Patent Organisation and the national patent authorities of the contracting states, the fee for an international-type search shall be as follows:

  • EUR 1 205 for patent applications in which no priority is claimed (first filings);
  • EUR 1 890 in all other cases.

Article 2

The amounts of the fee for an international-type search as laid down in Section 2.2, No. 1 of the extract from the schedule of fees annexed to the decision of the President of the European Patent Office dated 13 December 2013 (OJ EPO 2014, A13) shall be replaced by the amount laid down in Article 1 of this decision.

Article 3

The amounts of the fee laid down in Article 1 shall apply to patent applications filed on or after 1 April 2016.

Article 4

This decision shall enter into force on 1 April 2016.
