New fee rates

By Resolution No. 725/2018 regarding fees, published on 27 June 2018,1 some patent fees of the Portuguese Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) have been changed.

Applicants for and proprietors of European patents with effect in Portugal are advised that from 1 July 2018 the following rates apply:

1. Filing of European patent applications with INPI:

Transmittal fee: EUR 21.04 (unchanged)

2. Publication of translations of the claims pursuant to Article 67(3) EPC:

Fee for provisional protection: EUR 53.30 if filed online, EUR 106.61 if filed on paper

Correction of the translation of the patent claims: EUR 26.66 if filed online, EUR 53.30 if filed on paper

3. Publication of translations of the patent under Article 65 EPC:

Fee for national validation: EUR 53.30 if filed online, EUR 106.61 if filed on paper

Correction of the translation of the patent: EUR 26.66 if filed online, EUR 53.30 if filed on paper

4. Renewal fees:

5. Conversion of European patent applications or patents into national patent applications or patents:

Filing fee: EUR 106.61 if filed online, EUR 213.21 if filed on paper

6. Conversion of European patent applications or patents into national utility model applications or utility models:

Filing fee: EUR 106.61 if filed online, EUR 213.21 if filed on paper

Examination fee: EUR 79.97 if filed online, EUR 159.91 if filed on paper

7. Registering a transfer, licence or other right:

Transfer fee: EUR 106.61 if filed online, EUR 133.26 if filed on paper

Licence fee: EUR 90.61 if filed online, EUR 106.61 if filed on paper

Compulsory licence fee: EUR 10.67 if filed online, EUR 21.33 if filed on paper
