Information from the EPO

Decision of the President of the European Patent Office dated 14 May 2024 concerning the revision of WIPO Standard ST.26

In accordance with Article 1(5) of the decision dated 9 December 2021 on the filing of sequence listings,1

having regard to Article 10(2) EPC and Rules 30(1) and 163(3) EPC, and

considering that the Committee on WIPO Standards, at its 11th session, adopted version 1.7 of WIPO Standard ST.26 for the standardised presentation of nucleotide and amino acid sequences,2 which will enter into force on 1 July 2024,

the President of the European Patent Office has decided as follows:

Article 1

Applicable version of WIPO Standard ST.26

Sequence listings filed as from 1 July 2024 for European patent applications to which WIPO Standard ST.26 applies must comply with version 1.6 or 1.7 of that standard.

Article 2

Previous decision superseded

This decision supersedes the decision of the President of the European Patent Office dated 24 April 2023 concerning the revision of WIPO Standard ST.26.

Article 3

Entry into force

This decision will enter into force on 1 July 2024.
