    International Depositary Authorities for Microorganisms

    I. Commonwealth Agricultural Bureau (CAB), International Mycological Institute (IMI)

    1. Change of name

    The name of CAB International Mycological Institute1 has been changed into International Mycological Institute (IMI)2.

    At present the address of IMI is

    Ferry Lane,

    GB-Kew,

    Surrey TW9 3AF.

    As from October 1992, it will be

    Bakeham Lane,

    Englefield Green,

    GB-Egham,

    Surrey TW20 9TY.

    2. Extension and clarification of the list of kinds of Microorganisms

    The list of kinds of microorganisms accepted for deposit by IMI3 has been extended and clarified with effect from 29 February19922 as follows:

    Fungal isolates (including yeasts) and bacteria (including actinomycetes), other than known human and animal pathogens that can be preserved without significant change to their properties by methods of preservation in use.

    Organisms up to and including ACDP Category 24 deposits are accepted by the Collection.

    Notwithstanding the foregoing, the IMI reserves the right to refuse to accept any material for deposit which in the opinion of the Curator presents an unacceptable risk or is technically unsuitable to handle. The IMI will accept organisms which do not significantly change after long-term nitrogen freezing or freeze-drying. A statement regarding potential pathogenicity and storage conditions is required when a deposit is made.

    The fees for a deposit remain unchanged.

    II. American Type Culture Collection (ATCC)

    Change in the kinds of micro-organisms and material accepted andin the fee schedule

    The kinds of micro-organisms and material accepted by the ATCC5 and the schedule of fees have been changed with effect from30 March 19926 as follows:
