    INFORMATION FROM THE EPO
Notices of the President of the EPO

Notice of the President of the European Patent Office dated 20 April 1998 concerning the extension of time limits under Rule 85 EPC

    1. From 2 to 16 September 1997, the introduction of a new recording system in Germany caused an interruption or dislocation within the meaning of Rule 85(2) EPC in the delivery of registered priority mail from abroad.

    2. For such items, therefore, EPO time limits which would have expired in the period from 2 until 16 September 1997 are extended under Rule 85(2) and (3) EPC to 17 September 1997.

    3. Rule 82.2 PCT remains unaffected.
