The Patents (Fees) Rules 1998
The Patents (Fees) Rules 19981 have reduced or deleted some fees for patents.
Applicants and proprietors of European patents with effect in the United Kingdom are advised that from 1 October 1998 the following rates apply:
1. Renewal Fees:

Surcharge: GBP 24 per month (but not exceeding 6 months) (unchanged).
There is no surcharge if payment is made within one month of due date.

3. Translation of European patents (UK) and applications for European patents (UK)

Updating of the information brochure "National law relating to the EPC"
Users of the EPO information brochure "National law relating to the EPC" (10th edition) are asked to delete the amounts of fees shown in tables III.B, columns 2 and 9(a), IV, columns 3(a)(i) and 10(a), VII, column 2(b), and IX, column 4, and to make the appropriate amendments to those in table VI, column 1.
