Appointment of members of the Examination Board and examination committees
Members of the Examination Board
The terms of office of F. Andres (CH), J. Arbouw (NL), J. Combeau (FR), M. Vivian (GB) and P. Weinhold (DE) expired on 30 November 1998.
The President of the European Patent Office has appointed:
(a) as member and Chairman of the Examination Board, following consultation of the Council of the Institute of Professional Representatives, M. Vivian for a further term of office;
(b) as members of the Examination Board for a further term of office
- on a proposal of the Institute of Professional Representatives, J. Combeau and P. Weinhold;
- F. Andres and J. Arbouw.
The term of office of these members is four years with effect from 1 December 1998.
Members of the examination committees
The term of office of J. Combeau, P. Weinhold and I. Muir as members and chairmen of Examination Committees I, II and III respectively ended on 31 October 1998. The Examination Board reappointed J. Combeau, P. Weinhold and I. Muir as chairmen of Examination Committees I, II and III; their term of office will expire on 31 October 2000.
The term of office of the following members of the examination committees expired on 31 October 1998: J. Boff (GB), C. Black (GB), C. Boerma (NL), F. Bosch (FR), E. Christiansen (DK), S. Dack (GB), D. David (FR), A. Däweritz (DE), A. Decroix (FR), B. Dobrucki (AT), H. Fineron (GB), G. Gislon (IT), T. Godemeyer (DE), I. Harris (GB), F. Ibañez (ES), C. Jönsson (SE), T. Karamanli (GR), F. Ketterl (DE), E. Krause (AT), O. Münch (CH), I. Pielka (GB), M. Radke (DE), P. Rostovanyi (SE), M. Ruggiu (IT), J. van Geyt (BE) and S. White (GB). The Examination Board reappointed them as members of an examination committee with effect from 1 November 1998; their term of office will expire on 31 October 2000, except for A. Däweritz whose term of office will expire on 31 January 1999.
J. Barthl-Wagner (AT), M. Bergzoll (FR), A. Gerbino (IT), G. Kern (DE), F. Mercey (GB), P. Michel (GB) and M. Seehof (CH), ceased to be members of an examination committee with effect from 1 November 1998. J. Riolo (FR) will also cease to be member of an examination committee with effect from 1 January 1999.
Furthermore the Examination Board appointed W. Fäustle (DE), H. Meinders (NL), A. Onshage (SE), P. Provvisionato (IT) and J. Tellefsen (DK) with effect from 1 November 1998 as members of an examination committee; their term of office will expire on 31 October 2000.
