New fee rates

By Law No. 22/2013 of 23 December 20131 some patent fees payable to the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office have been changed.

Applicants for and proprietors of European patents with effect in Spain are advised that from 1 January 2014 the following rates apply:

1. Publication of translations of the claims pursuant to Article 67(3) EPC: EUR 107.80;

EUR 91.63 for translations on magnetic data carriers

2. Publication of translations of the patent specification under Article 65 EPC:

EUR 320.93 plus EUR 12.90 for each page of the translation in excess of 22;

EUR 272.79 plus EUR 10.97 for translations on magnetic data carriers

4. Conversion of European patent applications or patents into national patent applications or patents:

Filing fee: EUR 74.18 (EUR 63.05 for electronic filings)

Fee for each foreign priority: EUR 19.65 (EUR 16.70 for electronic filings)

5. Registering transfers, licences and other rights: EUR 13.24 for each entry (EUR 11.25 in electronic form).

Registering a change of the applicant's/patentee's name: EUR 16.38 for each entry, up to a maximum amount of EUR 2 734.68 (EUR 13.92 for each entry, up to a maximum amount of EUR 2 324.48, in electronic form).
