INFORMATION FROM THE CONTRACTING STATES/ EXTENSION AND VALIDATION STATES

New fee rates

The Slovak Industrial Property Office has informed us that some patent fees have been changed.1

Applicants for and proprietors of European patents with effect in Slovakia are advised that from 1 January 2018 the following new rates apply:

1. Publication and correction of translations of the claims pursuant to Article 67(3) EPC:

EUR 10

2. Conversion of European patent applications or patents into national patent applications or patents:

(a) If the request for conversion is filed with the Slovak Industrial Property Office in accordance with Article 135(2) EPC:

EUR 20 (unchanged) for each (designated) state

(b) If the request for conversion is filed with the EPO in accordance with Art. 135(3) EPC and transmitted to the Slovak Industrial Property Office:

EUR 30 (if the request is filed by an inventor or co-inventors) or

EUR 60 (if the request is filed by a person other than an inventor or co-inventors)

3. Registering a transfer of rights in the national patent Register:

EUR 30 per patent

Registering of licences and other rights:

EUR 20 per patent for a licence or a legal mortgage

Users of this brochure (18th edition) should amend Tables III.B, sections 2 and 6, VII, section 2, and IX, section 4, accordingly.
