Information from the Enlarged Board of Appeal

In case G 2/14 the following point of law has been referred to the Enlarged Board of Appeal:

Where a notice of appeal is filed but the appeal fee is paid after expiry of the time limit of Article 108, first sentence, EPC, is the appeal inadmissible or is it deemed not to have been filed?

Following the deemed withdrawal of the patent application in the referring decision T 2017/12, resulting in the appeal proceedings being closed, these referral proceedings before the Enlarged Board of Appeal are terminated.
