For these reasons it is decided that:
1. The decision under appeal is set aside.
2. The case is remitted to the department of first instance with the order to maintain the patent on the basis of:
- claims 1 to 7 of auxiliary request 4 filed with letter dated 21 December 2016;
- description pages 2 to 7, 10 and 11 of the patent as granted and pages 8, 8A and 9 filed during oral proceedings; and
- Figures 1 to 8h (12 pages) of the patent as granted.
