Applicants who are not established in the Republic of Bulgaria or in another Member State of the European Union, in a state - party to the European Economic Area Agreement or in the Swiss Confederation, are required to act before the Patent Office through a lawyer or an industrial property representative

Manner and form in which the translation is made available to the public


On the date of publication of the mention of receipt of the translation, the translated claims are simultaneously made available (one copy) at the Patent Library in the Bulgarian Patent Office and via the register of the Bulgarian Patent Office portal.

Special features


Corrections concerning the claims of a European patent application must be made available to the public by the Bulgarian Patent Office at the same time as the mention in the Bulletin is published, and have effect with respect to third parties as of the publication date of the mention.

The translation of the claims must be accompanied by a translation of the biblio­graphic data of the European patent applica­tion (name and address of the applicant, title of the invention, the EP application and publication numbers, number and date of European Patent Bulletin).
