Understand our services

MyEPO is an integrated suite of services that makes it easy for you – a patent applicant, opponent or representative – to conduct your EPO business.

Understanding our services

MyEPO Portfolio is the place for interacting with us during EP and PCT proceedings. You can view your application documents, receive Mailbox communications and submit replies, and interact with examiners.

Online Filing 2.0 is the tool for you to file EP and PCT applications, as well as submissions in opposition, appeal and other proceedings.

We encourage you to use these MyEPO services to conduct your business with the EPO.

What about legacy online services?

We still support legacy services, some of which will soon be decommissioned:

Our legacy Mailbox, My Files and Administration services will be decommissioned in June 2024, as the functionality is already fully operational in MyEPO Portfolio. We encourage you to start using MyEPO Portfolio today.

Our legacy Online Filing software is still available for you to download and install. But we encourage you to use Online Filing 2.0 instead.

What if our online filing services are down?

You can use the EPO Contingency Upload Service as a fallback in case our main online filing services are not available.

How will these MyEPO services evolve in the future?

Under our Strategic Plan 2023, we embarked on an ambitious programme to transform and improve the way we interact with our users: the result is MyEPO.

MyEPO is work in progress. We have a comprehensive plan that delivers new features in coming months. You can find more information about this in the MyEPO roadmap.

Help us improve our services

We continuously strive to improve our online services and incorporate feedback from our user community. For this, we regularly consult our users and engage with them for research purposes. If you would like to participate in focus groups, take part in pilot trials or provide input or feedback, please volunteer below.

MyEPO Portfolio

MyEPO Portfolio is a secure, web-based online service for parties to proceedings before the EPO that provides a novel approach to interacting with the EPO on portfolios of applications and patents.

It has been designed to improve the exchange of digital information, simplify procedures, and enable more direct interaction with EPO examiners on files.

The EPO is looking for volunteers to actively participate in future pilot phases during which we will trial new features of MyEPO Portfolio.

If you are interested in participating in a pilot phase, please select Volunteer above. Feedback sessions will be conducted via email, interviews or online group working sessions.

Please note: When gathering input, we try to ensure a fair balance of users in terms of profile, company size, location and level of expertise. If we do not contact you immediately, we will save your details and get back to you if we need your support.
