In the light of the developments in the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Boards of Appeal have reassessed some of their recently introduced measures for the arrangement and conduct of oral proceedings.

They have the task of reviewing contested decisions of the Office's departments of first instance within the framework of the European Patent Convention (EPC). They are headed by the President of the Boards of Appeal.
All decisions of the Boards of Appeal are contained in a searchable decisions database which is updated daily.
