European TV station Euronews will broadcast the first in a series of programmes about the European Inventor Award tonight at 19.45 hrs CET.
Tonight's programme - a high-tech special - will look at French nominee Emmanuel Desurvire, a pioneer in the field of high-speed data transmission.
Other programmes in the series are on the UK inventor Joshua Silver (10 May) and on Belgian nominee Ann Lambrechts (17 May), each of them starting at 19.45 hrs.
The European Inventor Awards are presented each year by the EPO, the European Commission and the EU Council Presidency.
This year's award ceremony takes place in exactly four weeks' time at the Academy of Sciences in Budapest, Hungary.
