5. Allocation of tasks to members
An opposition division will normally entrust one of its members with the examination of the opposition up to when the final decision is taken (see also D‑IV, 2), though not with the conduct of oral proceedings. If need be, the same member may also be entrusted with the examination of the evidence adduced (see E‑IV, 1.3). This member will be referred to as the first member.
